About

Kitty Karn recently moved to the area after 15 years as Professor of Musical Theatre Voice at Western Illinois University. Prior to that, she resided in Houston, Texas for 20 years, where she taught both professional and non-professional singers (from R&B to Opera!). Kitty combines classical and contemporary vocal technique infused with yogic movement, creating an open and uplifting learning environment. Roles include Chaperone in The Drowsy Chaperone, Marmee in Little Women, Florence Foster Jenkins in Souvenir and Phoebe in The Yeomen of the Guard, for which she received the Best Supporting Actress award at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England.
