Carey Deadman earned a bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University in jazz performance in 1983. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1985 and did his master’s work in brass performance and pedagogy.
His professional experience as a musician includes nine tours with Frank Sinatra, a television VH1 special with Brian Wilson, the Oprah Winfrey Show, an ABC-TV special with Celine Dion, and with Billy Joel in 2003. In recent years, he was lead trumpet for the Chicago cast of the Broadway show Wicked and an on-stage performer in Jersey Boys.
