Auditions: Tuesday, August 22 — Wednesday, August 23 in the ETMSW building

These auditions are for placement into Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos, Vocal Jazz Ensemble. The rehearsal schedule for each ensemble is as follows:

Jazz Ensemble: T/Th 3:30-5:30pm

Jazz Combos: T/Th 2:00-3:15pm; 6:00-7:15; 7:30-8:45pm (times may vary)

Vocal Jazz Ensemble: W 6:00-8:30pm (go to this page for audition information)

Who Can Audition?: Any UIC student, regardless of degree, has a place in our music ensembles and are encouraged to join. Students receiving a Music Merit Award and music degree students must meet specific ensemble obligations every semester according to their scholarship or degree plan requirements. Ensemble placement is determined by performance faculty based on audition results, scholarship/degree obligations, ensemble needs, and student preferences.

Audition Sign-up: Students who would like to be considered for spots in the jazz ensemble and jazz combos should sign up online for an audition time here.

Results: Audition results should be posted by early evening Wednesday. The first rehearsal will be on Thursday, August 24.
